    [Inactive] Windows Vista Repair

A friend told me that I probably have a rogue virus but he could not help me at the moment and directed me to this site. There are no longer any programs in the start up menu nor are there any icons on the desktop screen which is now black instead of its usual background. When I start windows (vista) a window called Windows Vista Repair comes up. Says it is running a system safety restore and it says there are 11 errors
    - "Hard drive and memory errors are detected on your PC.
Please take the recommended actions" then it gives an Error Report
Stating the Error and the type

    Errors listed include
    - Drive C initializing error warning
    - Bad sectors on hard drive or damaged life allocation table
    - Read time of hard drive clusters less than 500 ms
    there are 8 more errors

The program then tries to "fix" the errors and when it is done it says it has fixed 6 out of 11 errors. It then says that if I want to fix the problem then I can buy an advanced module for 84.95.

During this whole process several balloons pop up in the bottom right hand corner.
    - Critical Error - Windows can't find hard disk space. Hard Drive Error.
    - Windows was unable to save all data for the file \\ system32\\4468300 the data has been lost. The error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware.

Several boxes also pop up saying
    - The system has detected a problem with one or more installed IDE/SATA hard disks. It is recommended that you restart your computer.
    - RAM memory usage us critically high. RAM memory failure.

I cannot access the internet unless I am in safe mode with networking and the only way I can access it is an online link through Windows help and
    support.
When I am in safe mode none of the things described above occur.
Also, when I am in the normal mode, Windows will restart if I try to open the start up menu.
I have updated my antivirus (avira)

    Any advice would be awesome!
    Thanks
