    Hello again,
I just reinstalled win xp and in the device manager under "other devices" i have a yellow exclamation mark and question mark next to "mass storage controller ". I noticed there was no driver installed . My question is , what is this function and is it important ? If it is important, how do I fix it ?

    thanks in advance.

Do you have (or had) an external USB hardrive, memory card, mobile phone, digital camera (etc) installed since the reinstall of XP?

Depending on your answer this is probably not a problem but it may help if you complete your system details...

We encourage all members to enter their system details, it could help resolving this and any future issues you may have.

If I'd have something yellow in my control panel I'd want to fix that.

Whopper, you'd have to reinstall the drivers for your hardware (motherboard) after a fresh install of Windows.

Arie, I'll bow to your greater knowledge. I had assumed (incorrectly) that device manager was just reporting the memory card as missing.
