[Inactive] Don't have the necessary Permissions

This is a continuation of my thread in Windows 7 - "won't boot up " etc....

I am asked to post logs - this is unfamiliar territory to me - but looking at logs, I see for today, "Error" and there are 11,328 events....
This is going to be a very big post, isn't it ? Or am I misunderstanding ?

I should appreciate some advice about this.

Geoff, take some time and read the instructions again, carefully. Print them out if you have to but it is crucial you follow those instructions as best you can and our analysts instructions to the letter.

Right ; I followed rthe instructions carefully as far as the GMER programme. This started to run, then I got a screen saying that the programme had stopped working etc , if Windows found a solution it would let me know etc , and Windows would close it.

I thought it a temporary hitch, so closed it down, then tried again to run GMER. This time I immediately got the old and long familiar Windows Blue Screen about danger and Windows was shutting down my system to protecet the computer. It did that.

I have rebooted ( successfully ? ) but when I tried to get on the internet with it - the PC ( the one with the problems) to send this message, it didn't connect, and the usual systems don't work - i.e. Diagnose Connection Problems brings no results.

Please advise what I try next ?

    Please, observe following rules:
    • Read all of my instructions very carefully. Your mistakes during cleaning process may have very serious consequences, like unbootable computer.
    • If you're stuck, or you're not sure about certain step, always ask before doing anything else.
    • Please refrain from running tools or applying updates other than those I suggest.
    • Never run more than one scan at a time.
    • Keep updating me regarding your computer behavior, good, or bad.
    • The cleaning process, once started, has to be completed. Even if your computer appears to act better, it may still be infected. Once the computer is totally clean, I'll certainly let you know.
    • If you leave the topic without explanation in the middle of a cleaning process, you may not be eligible to receive any more help in malware removal forum.
    • I close my topics if you have not replied in 5 days. If you need more time, simply let me know. If I closed your topic and you need it to be reopened, simply PM me.

    =====================================================

Use working computer and USB flash drive to transfer following program to bad computer.

Please download MiniToolBox and run it.

    Checkmark following boxes:
    • Report IE Proxy Settings
    • List content of Hosts
    • List IP configuration
    • List last 10 Event Viewer log
    • List Windows version, partition and memory size.
Click Go and post the result.

Thank you for all the help , but as I believe I said some time ago , solving my problems is taking too much of my time - it has been going on for 4 weeks now , first my local repair shop, then the local manufacturer, then Norton, all of whom were defeated , although not everyone can admit it , and finally Windows BBS where the first several solutions have not actually helped.
No criticism intended ; some problems are just more difficult than others.
But to save my sanity ( not to mention my marriage) I have bought a new machine . The old one runs sufficiently well for me to copy some files, and as and when ( or if and when) it can't and I come to the conslusion that I can't reconstruct them or find a work-around, and have to have them , then I will come back, cap in hand.
I don't think that will be necessary, but who knows !
So when I have sent this message I will mark the thread as resolved, for the sake of tidiness.

    I don't find "resolved" as a thread tool ?

You won't in this board. Broni will close the thread when he sees your posts but as you've indicated you may be copying files from this system to your new one I strongly suggest you follow the instruction to the end. If malware is the issue then you could cause the same issues on your new computer.
