    [Inactive] Vista Internet Security 2011

I ended up with Vista Internet Security 2011 a few days ago, and I think we successfully got rid of it the next day. (We used Malwarebytes to get rid of it.)

However, even after we re-booted, the system was extremely slow... the task manager showed 100% CPU usage, with 74 (or so) programs running, but did not show which program was using all of that.... I did reboot again, and it cleared up.

For the most part, I think it is running ok now.

I am concerned that there might be something still lurking in my drive somewhere...

Is there a way to do a deeper scan to make sure all viruses are gone? We are currently running Avast free on the system.

    Vista Home Basic

I just realized there is a thread for malware... sorry... I posted this under my operating system thinking that was where it belonged.....

if this can be moved there, I would appreciate it...

Just as info... I'm more of a beginner than an intermediate.... I'm going to show the information to hubby and he will take over. I'll have him do all the stuff needed. It will be later in the day, though.

Thanks for moving my post to the appropriate forum.

    In your own time :)

Our malware analyst will not be around until much later in the day (UK time) as he resides in California.
