IE7 opens different web pages.

IE8 was starting to open different web pages to what i was asking, so i went back to IE7, and still the same problem. I have run a number of different spyware programs, but all of them came up with nothing. I have tried too clean the host file, opened in notepad, but when i try to save the cleaned file, it will not save, saying the file location does not exist. Firefox is working fine, so this infection appears to be effecting IE only. How can i clean this little nasty from my system. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
