upon startup i am getting the following prompt:

"reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key "

this is after recently doing some troubleshooting and booting from a cd. problem is, tapping the del key NO LONGER allows me access to the bios settings. the only way the pc will boot properly is if i tap the F12 key and select boot from the hard drive. any help getting it back to normal boot settings would be appreciated. thank you.

    Hi latemodelsedan.

With adding your system specs to your profile you forgot a step.

A common error is to forget to show your System Details in your profile:

Getting to your problem, is this computer a desktop or a labtop?

Try clearing your CMOS battery and then see if you can access the BIOS, Clear your CMOS battery.

If that doesn't work try another keyboard to rule out whether that device is causing the problem.

good morning. i ended up going into msconfig and it appears i had a pretty weird selective boot going on so i cleaned that up and did a reboot and that appears to have solved my issues. thanks for your time.
