    Hi everyone,

I am having problems when I type anything whether emails, wordpad, facebook etc, and it's driving me crazy and taking an age to type anything that makes sense! My cursor seems to have a mind of its own as it 'jumps' from line to line when I am typing, disappears altogether from where I am typing and I have to use my mouse ( I cannot get on with the touchpad very well) to get me back to the correct place, the screen minimalises suddenly, text suddenly turns blue then deletes! I am hoping that someone can make sense of what I am saying and come up with a solution?

I suggest as a first step that you scan your computer for possible malware/virus. If you don't have them, get these free malware scanners, install, update and scan, let them fix what they find:

    Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

    Superantispyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/

Also make sure that your antivirus is up to date and scan with that as well.

If they don't find anything or if after they have removed what they found, post back.

This could also be due to a faulty keyboard or mouse.

Did the problem suddenly start or has there been a gradual increase in errors.

If it happened suddenly can you recall anything you did just before the problem appeared, if so a system restore may fix it.

If you wish to check for infections your best bet would be to go to the Malware and Virus forum so the experts can examine the results follow this instruction.

OK, first tell me, has the problem been a gradual decline or was it sudden.

Try this, go to the Device Manager, locate the keyboard in the list of devices, click on the + and then right click on the keyboard description. Select properties and then Drivers tab. Click on Uninstall, follow the prompts to confirm and reboot the PC. You should see a pop up when the PC reboots saying it is loading drivers.

If this does not work then I am prone to think that your keyboard has a physical fault, possibly a jammed key. Do an inspection of the keyboard and see if any of the keys feel like they are not springing back up.

Don't neglect touchpad as possibility. I am not familiar with comp model or options. Some have a button located on touchpad, some have a special keycombo, some need Synaptics software that will allow systray settings to be a click away. If using Synaptics, in the least disable "tap click ".

I am however familiar with aggravation and odd behavior a whacky touchpad can produce.

Go to support site and look for updates related to touchpad, particularly software.
