All in the same folder? Where/What are you trying to copy them to?

I am not trying to do anything. It was an interesting article which I thought people on WindowsBBS would like to read.

he seemed to have tried everything i thought of and none of my ideas would have worked.

but this article is another incentive (to me at least) to start learning how to work on other OSes (sp) (at least Linux maybe even Unix)

He did admit that RichCopy worked, albeit single threaded it wouldn't be any faster than his linux (cp) method. Though there would be no need to have a linux system at hand.

There's an article about RichCopy in the online Technet magazine (link below) if you're interested.

Free Utility: RichCopy, an Advanced Alternative to RoboCopy

The article also has a link to download RichCopy

Yup, that's the whole point of me posting it. Even I don't see me or any of client reaching close to that limit, but its better to be forearmed just in case :D

    An unmentioned option:
Clone the disk to another one and send the disk via FedEx!

He could also have written a bash script or used windows scripting to make multiple archives (prob about 100), send and unpack at the destination.

In fact I have done it. Probably more like 100 million. Takes a very long time. We used robocopy. We had thousands of folders. This was part of a sytem upgrade at my last job. We kept a running list of what was copied and when. Took a very long time.
