Try the monitor (CRT?) on another computer and see if the problem remains.

If not update your grapics drivers for a start.

Had you filled in your System Details or at least posted the make/model no. of your graphics card our task would have been made that much easier.

Go to Device Manager and expand Display Adaptors to reveal the detail of your Graphics card, e.g nVidia GeForce 8600GT.

If you have an nVidia card go here .....

    NVIDIA Driver Downloads

    and follow Option 2.

If you have an ATI card go here .....

    Graphics Drivers & Software

If you have Intel onboard graphics go here .....

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx

For any other post back - with the model no of your Dell (I assume?) computer, e.g. Dell Dimension xxx

The manual suggests you have an Intel GMA X4500HD graphics chip on the motherboard and as you have updated the Intel driver I'm assuming this is correct.

As the monitor is not showing a colour cast on another computer and updating the drivers has had no effect the suggestion is that you have a hardware problem on the motherboard. As the graphics chip is integrated into the motherboard the only way of replacing it it to replace the motherboard.

    However the manual states .....
so you could install a graphics card which would normally disable the onboard graphics by default, but which may require a setting in the BIOS to be changed.

i can also mention that the mis-color only appears on graphics programs when viewing jpgs etc. In Photoshop or viewing pics in windows.

I do wish that you had mentioned that at the outset - your original post gave no clue as to the extent of the issue and we naturally read that as implying that the monitor colours were off globally.

If the issue arises only when viewing jpegs we are looking at colour managemeny here I think.

Do all jpegs - sourced from your camera? - exhibit this problem or only recent jpegs? The fact that jpegs viewed in Photoshop (version?) display the same colour imbalance as in Windows suggests to me that the issue arises in the camera.

Check out some old jpegs and some current jpegs and post back.
