Hi Viaj, Welcome to Windowsbbs. Are you using IE8? If you haven't activated IE8 - that could be a reason.
You could try to do a Manual install. Go to Windows Updates and do a Custom find. Then select what you want and choose the Install option. Cheers Neil.

Yes, I have IE8 and it's been activated. Custom won't help since all the updates are needed.

Can you install from Windows Updates all the necessary KB's manually?
Rather than let them run Auto Update - you can do the job yourself.

    Try this:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Download and install Windows Installer 3.1

It will clean out your old history and re-register the dll's necessary for installations to work. Then go back to Windows Update and try again.
Let's know if this helps. Neil.

Hi, I had exactly the same and I just went through it I think 3 times before all of them installed. I can't recall exactly but only 2 or 3 updates installed the first time, rebooted, waited for the shield in the task bar to come up again and let the rest install I think that it taken 3 or 4 takes IE8 was the last one to install. It is all working ok.
