Hi all, im new here and this is my first post... so hope i have placed it in the right forum..

My system is windows xp pro, over the last few days when i try to turn my computer off .. ie start, turn off, it gets to the point of
"windows is saving your settings" but instead of clicking off it starts to re-boot again..
it was turning off if i tried again... but now it seems to be getting worse..
i have to press the button on the tower.. i would be thankfull for any advice..

i did have the motor replaced about 6 months ago so do not think it could be that..

    thank you
    john.

    Goddez1,
thank you for the reply.. i downloaded service pack 3, and disabled the automatic start up.. that seems to have worked , but i feel it is a motor problem.
today it just would not start at all, i left it for a few hours and have just got it running ,
hence the time in replying... will see how it is after i turn it off .. but looks like it will be going into the shop.... lol

    again , thank you

    john.

    Hi John,

Looks like you've made some progress or improvement in that comp no longer reboots instead of shutting down. Your most welcome for that. I sure hope the hardware repair isn't going to be costly. Thanks for the update.

If you would, could you mark this post as resolved. If this later proves not to be true you can always reverse or remove the resolved tag.
