Resolved IE8 and videos

    I'm on Windows XP. Recently, IE8 no longer will open and play videos, but Foxfire does.

    Hi BrotherRon, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

    Have you tried opening IE8 with no add-ons and seeing if IE8 opens? To start IE8 with no add-ons click Start< All Programs< Accessories< System Tools< Internet Explorer (No-Addons).

    Since IE8 doesn't play videos either that indicates a problem with Adobe Flash Player. Try installing the latest version from here.

    If you still can't get IE8 to play videos or open at all try Resetting Internet Explorer 8.

    Also please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions.

    Thanks, Evan OMO. Updating my Adobe Flash did the trick. I feel foolish because I received a prompt about 2 weeks ago, alerting me to that Adobe update. I thought, back then, that I had downloaded and installed it. I guess I go0fed then, but yesterday the download did the trick.
