    Dear all,

    I had Avira Personal installed on a client's pc few weeks back;
Suddenly, Avira began detecting viruses; cleaning some but couldn't clean others.

I did a full scan and it deleted tens of viruses then once again, avira began to detect viruses.

    I had to use:
    Dr Web,
    McAfee,
    and
    Nod32

standalone antiviruses to clean the mess once and for all..

On other PCs and in the past, I used to Norton, Avast, Nod32 and alike but always had to use standalone antiviruses to do a full clean.

It seems, these days, that no single antivirus can really provide a full protection whether freee or paid.

 Do you have a malware problem? If this is information only then post in general security but you won't be posting anything new ;)

Seriously my advice is to ask the malware experts to check out your system, you can never be too sure.

As indicated at the start of this forum, please *** READ THIS BEFORE POSTING IN THIS FORUM *** then post the requested logs in this thread.

    NOTES:
When posting the logs ensure word wrap is switched off (in notepad Uncheck Format->Word Wrap) as this makes them difficult to read.

Be aware that only Malware analysts will advise and they are often busy. Your post will be taken on a first come first served basis but it may take a while before you receive a reply.

    Dear All,
    Dear wildfire,

    Thank you for you advice.
In fact, it was much easier and faster for me to do a clean install (format, etc.) than to use 3 standalone sacnners but since I did that for 2 other computers, I was a little bit lazy to continue :)

The purpose of my thread is that, and to tell you the truth, no single antivirus can be trusted these days even if this or that antivirus is ranked first, second, etc...

    Regards,

To tell you the truth, the perfect AV program never existed and never will.
Your protection #1 tool is your brain and your surfing habits.
