    When I run ipcofig, the small black window opens, then closes. No info is displayed. I tried combo fix and Microsoft Security Essentials. Any ideas?

    Not a malware issue,

    You ran IPCONFIG, it done it's job then closed...

    IPCONFIG is a command line utility not a GUI (Windows) one...

    Try Start->Run->Cmd
    then IPCONFIG

    Post in your relevant OS board for more help.

    Try this ;) Start > Run >
    cmd /c start /min cmd /c "ipconfig /all >Desktop\log.txt >log.txt&log.txt "
    Then click ok

    IPconfig shows your internal IP address (for your gateway and network IP)
    Your external IP (what the world sees) can be found here: WhatsMyIP

    I hope this helps :)

    So what you need to do (I think kimsland tried to explain that) is to first open a command prompt, then run ipconfig.

    But again, as explained above, that could possibly only show your internal IP (depending on your setup).

    Also: please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions!
