Hi no55 and welcome to WindowsBBS :)

I understand that this is an old system but it would be helpful if you add your system details to your profile. Please click on the link and follow those instructions it could save some time when resolving this or further issues.

A common error is to forget to show your system details in your profile

If you do add your system specifications be sure to do the above :)

I apologise if english isn't your first language but your posts are not easy to decipher :D

Please be patient if we make errors due to your spelling.

    You did :)

Download Data lifeguard diagnostics for dos from that link...

Either Floppy or CD version for your system. Perform a full read test but Do not perform any zero fill/write tests. You will be required to make a boot disk/CD from that download. Let us know if you require further assistance.

ok thank you i will try to get some disks to burn the program on to soon

can i use a USB flash driver for this?

also for some reason the stores here are selling DVD-R disks with nothing on it and no space to burn anything... all i know is about ever one new in my town gets them and thinks there burner is the problem... i got to different disks from to different companies and both are saying the same thing "this is not a writable disk or is to full of data "

I doubt it, stick with floppy or CD.

 Can't help you with that, report them to trading standards or the Canadian equivalent. However, if it's only your systems that are having problems then perhaps there is an underlying problem.

Perhaps it's just me, but your spelling and grammar seem to vary greatly between threads.

Anyhow, in this thread anyway I'm not finding it easy to understand what you're posting so I'll leave it for someone else to comment.
