An Introduction and General Greeting.

Hello.

A recent attack on my girl-friend's PC has me hitting Google for help. And here I am. I will likely need to post a request for help in the Malware forum. I have found a post very similar to my own, but being the ambitious sort, and a person who has worked professionally with PCs for the past 20 years I thought I could tackle this one myself. I fear I might just have been wrong about that so, I am so happy to have found this site.

I can usually figure these things out for myself, but the problem with my 20+ years experience is that much of my knowledge is in fact 20 years old. Vista seems to be a very different animal from Windows 95, NT or MS DOS. LOL ... but I'm an old dog who refuses to recognize that he doesn't know any new tricks.

I currently work in the telephony field with voicemail systems. Voice over IP is the modern way, but me ... I work on what we call "legacy" systems which puts to good use my outdated knowledge. I am trying to drag myself into the 21st Century however and it seems like a forum like this might be a great place to learn.

Who knows, maybe I will be able to help someone here one day ... always like to pay it forward.
