    G'Day "sp3851 "

Yes we could, however there are thousands of them, most being "Task Specific" So what are you trying to recover, i.e. type of file ? and recently deleted or ? - current system or from formated HDD ?

There are lots of considerations before one can make a suggestion.

    G'Day "pcbugfixer "

You bring up a valid point. I was trying to recover a folder and files I deleted by mistake.
They were .pdf , .jpg and .doc files.

Hope you have a safe and happy new year.

And a Happy New Year to you "sp3851 "

    OK, your problem.

    1. 1st level of course is the Recycle Bin, if you have not cleared it since you deleted the folder and files, Right mouse click on the Recycle Bin icon on your desktop and click (left mouse click) on Open. Once there, the files and folder you have deleted are displayed and you simply click on the items and in the left margin click on "Restore this item" - Thats it !

    2. If you have emptied the Recycle bin, then you could use the default "System Restore" option in windows to obviously restore the system to before the point where you deleted the folder and files. For this you would need to remember the time and date of the deletion and obviously pick a time and date prior but closest to that time and restore the system to that.
HOWEVER - remember to backup any documents, email .pst and any other files and folder that you have created since the point you chose to restore.

Please let me know if any of these 2 point are useful to you and if in fact they did the job for you.

Could I just point out that no 2 is extremely unlikely to help, system restore will only be concerned with recovering system files and registry settings. I doubt Jpegs fall into that category.

SP3851, if your files aren't in the recycle bin then I'd suggest one of the tools Broni pointed out earlier. Letting us know your OS may help to give more reliable advice.

Please complete your system details it could save a lot of time when resolving this or further issues.
