    Aloha!

Most data-dense re precise device, helpful post I ever saw. also a little reminder that we should read the documentation.....which who every does?

Did I not say the function keys were confused? Tho that now appears inherent, and not some problem. You JUST gotta get ALL the info!

    And not let toggles....BOGGLE!

Not the same board as mine has different functions than what PRDawson has, also I had tried it that way. My boards light did not come on until bootup had gotten to clicking on my sign in. Anyway, really thanking all of you. Hope I can return the favor some day.

glad to see it's all sorted now for ya Dakota still the USB to PS2 keyboard addaptor shouldn't create any problems if you had of used it specially if it was the one that came with the keyboard MS are pretty good at testing their stuff lots before they put it on sale where as i wouldn't trust it if it was some 3rd party noname one though

yeah thats ok still don't know why wildfires got panties in a twist about them though if it came as part the keyboard or mouse bundle then it's fine to use them but some third party products just don't use the same proprietry configuration and end up not working thats why i don't reccomend using third party stuffs

    Athlonite,

    I wouldn't say I've got my panties in a twist :D

Like any other troubleshooting it's usually easier to eliminate any parts that are not required. I have had problems with these adapters in the past but will concede these were possibly due to unbranded 3rd party adapters.

Either way, in circumstances like Dakota's it is better to have a spare PS/2 keyboard. :)

I am not a real fan of these special little files for general use. They can come back to bite one in the behind. If you have a file that cannot be deleted, there are some underlying reasons which must be understood. malware can always be a culprit.

I tried to check out this guys web site (the guy who created the file) and it has been listed as an unsafe website and "This website has been reported to Microsoft for containing threats to your computer that might reveal personal or financial information ". If his website is unsafe then I would suspect any product he creates should be questionable.

Beware of the little apps created by some guy you don't know and can't check out.

I would think that if the app were bad, that Cnet would not have it on their site for download, anyway it is fixed so no need to post on it again.

WOT shows no problems with his website. My anti-malware programs have not found any issues with his site.

Ditto. I have used and celebrated this app for a very long time. Never once with any problem. Wish everyone who wrote software, forget, as generous as this man, to give something special away....had his kind of integrity.

I am also not a big fan of generalizing or categorical thinking.

Not only are apps individual entities, each new build of a given one can be as well..

Different site......the "Publishers website" listed on CNET under "see full specifications" is hxxp://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/

    (xx's added for safety)

I didn't mean to insult anyone

    Not to worry!

I do believe, Mitchell....it's not easy to insult someone named Cedrick.:p

Bet he's been there, done that, learned to deal with it... and sold the T-shirt on ebay.;)
