    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

    Go into Disk Management .....

    Start > Run > Diskmgmt.msc > Enter

Is the drive recognised there ?

Is it showing as formatted - if not format it.

If formatted does it have a Drive letter - if not assign one.

Are your drives SATA or PATA (IDE) - PATA drives use the flat 40/80 wire ribbon cables and are ~1.5" wide. You can tell if the cable is 40 or 80 wire by the ribbing on the cable - coarse is 40 wire.

SATA cables are either round or flat and < .5" wide.

If IDE check the jumpering on the 1 Tb drive - it should be Slave, your existing drive should be Master and on the end of the ribbon cable.

Your screenshot shows Disk 1 - this should be your 1 Tb drive.

Right click on the square box Disk 1 and make the drive active.
