Is this Windows 98 or what? What happens and how far does it get when you try to boot? Any error messages. What 3 little green lights? I don't have any green lights on my PC at all? You are a little vague in your post.

In addition to MrBill's questions (which you have not answered yet), you should be able to provide at least SOME hardware information in your profile (even if you cannot run the SIW utility).
    1. Is the computer a desktop or laptop? (You mentioned a battery issue which makes me guess it's a laptop.)
    2. What brand AND MODEL NUMBER is the computer?
    3. What brand AND MODEL NUMBER is the battery?
    4. What version of Windows? and is it 32-bit or 64-bit? (possibly not relevant in this case but you can put the information in your profile anyway)

Well, there's a good chance you are SOL.

Leaving the coke on the keyboard for any length of time has insured that it most likely has been destroyed. In reality, the machine needs to be taken apart and the affected components washed if you expect any decent life from the machine.

It could very well be that the coke has reached the motherboard and if so would most likely have reached and penetrated areas of crucial nature. Usually any of these kinds of substances promote corrosive growth and general electronic unreliability.

Time to check your (home) insurance cover ;)
