    [Active] Mighty Max 2009

    Hi, I found this download through a redirect to a Windows site and it said ol' Mighty Max is a recommended download. I dont know much about computers so i based my decision on the site being "Windows Vista Fix" and the (Recommended) next to it. I was hoping someone could help me or direct me to where I could receive some help. It wont uninstall completely I guess bc it keeps popping up saying 3000 problems found yada yada yada. Pretty much just pop ups.

    Unfortunately you have been conned - Mighty Max is useless scumware and your computer may well be infected with other nasties ....

    I downloaded the DDS and when I open it up it says

    "This tool does not support your Operating System "
    "Press any key to continue... "

    When you press any key the box just closes out.

    Well I belive I have the option of using either of the 2. But I downloaded it on 64. Should I do it with 32?

    Alrighty I downloaded it on 32 bit and it says the samething. I did what Windows said and hit Alt+h to check which bit I was running and it did not say 64 or 32. However, the 64 bit will say 64.

    Sorry to say it I located the 32 bit and when i clicked "iexplore" it opened internet explorer and i downloaded the dds again yielding the same results.

    I must apologize. I was replying thinking about different thread.

    Print these instructions out.

    NOTE. If any of the programs listed below refuse to run, try renaming executive file to something else; for instance, rename hijackthis.exe to scanner.exe

    ***VERY IMPORTANT! Make sure, you update Superantispyware, and Malwarebytes before running the scans.***

    STEP 1. Download SUPERAntiSpyware Free for Home Users:
    http://www.superantispyware.com/

    * Double-click SUPERAntiSpyware.exe and use the default settings for installation.
    * An icon will be created on your desktop. Double-click that icon to launch the program.
    * If asked to update the program definitions, click "Yes ". If not, update the definitions before scanning by selecting "Check for Updates ". (If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download and unzip them from here: http://www.superantispyware.com/definitions.html.)
    * Close SUPERAntiSpyware.

    PHYSICALLY DISCONNECT FROM THE INTERNET

    Restart computer in Safe Mode.
    To enter Safe Mode, restart computer, and keep tapping F8 key, until menu appears; select Safe Mode; you'll see "Safe Mode" in all four corners of your screen

    * Open SUPERAntiSpyware.
    * Click Scan your Computer... button.
    * Click Scanning Preferences/Control Center... button.
    * Under General and Startup tab, make sure, Start SUPERAntiSpyware when Windows starts option is UN-checked.
    * Click the Scanning Control tab.
    * Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked (leave all others unchecked):
    - Close browsers before scanning.
    - Terminate memory threats before quarantining.
    * Click the Close button to leave the control center screen.
    * On the left, make sure you check C:\Fixed Drive.
    * On the right, choose Perform Complete Scan.
    * Click Next to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer.
    * After the scan is complete, a Scan Summary box will appear with potentially harmful items that were detected. Click OK.
    * Make sure everything has a checkmark next to it and click Next.
    * A notification will appear that Quarantine and Removal is Complete. Click OK and then click the Finish button to return to the main menu.
    * If asked if you want to reboot, click Yes.
    * To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again.
    - Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab.
    - Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
    - If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log. A text file will open in your default text editor.
    - Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply.
    * Click Close to exit the program.
    Post SUPERAntiSpyware log.

    RECONNECT TO THE INTERNET

    RESTART COMPUTER!

    STEP 2. Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php to your desktop.
    (Malwarebytes is free to use as a manual scanner. Payment is only required if you wish to have it run and update automatically which is not necessary for our purposes)

    * Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
    * At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
    * Post the log back here.

    C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt

    I can see, Superantispyware got rid of most of MightyMax, but there is still some leftover.

    Print this post out, since you won't have an access to it, at some point.

    1. Open HijackThis.

    2. Close all windows, except for HijackThis.

    3. Put checkmarks next to the following HijackThis entries:

    4. You should also checkmark following entries (these are unnecessary startups; no actual programs will be removed):

    6. Open Windows Explorer. Go Tools>Folder Options>View tab, put a checkmark next to Show hidden files, and folders.

    7. Delete following files/folders (if present):
    Note. If deletion doesn't work, attempt it in Safe Mode - restart computer, and keep tapping F8 key, until menu appears.

    - PC MightyMax 2009 folder from C:\Program Files (x86)

    8. Restart computer.

    9. Post new HijackThis log.

    I found it in Program Files etc but when I tried to delete it the comp said I need permission and sent me to a window that would bounce off "Try Again." Only other option was "Cancel. "

    Download, and install Unlocker: http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
    Restart computer.
    It'll install under right click menu.

    Open Windows Explorer.
    Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86).

    Right click on PC MightyMax 2009 folder. Click Unlocker
    Select Delete from drop-down menu:

    Click OK.
    PC MightyMax 2009 will refuse to be deleted, but Unlocker will give you an option to delete on reboot:

    Click Yes.
    Restart computer.

    When I right click the only thing I can do involving Unlocker is going to the Send To area and send it to Unlocker but it doesnt do anything.
