Hi jsctolitz. What happens when you attempt to turn on the computer? Does the computer run its Power On Self Test (POST) when it starts? Does it boot into Windows and then freeze up? Do you hear the fans start up? Could you give me more information about your problem? Thanks.

    thanks for your attention evan,
no POST, its totally dead that I can't turn it on I checked all the connection and its all good, but I can able to turn it on only after an hour or more without unplugging to the power socket. the motherboard's led is also in lit. it was first happen when I didn't use my pc for a week, I also suspected that my pc was damaged due to sudden brownout. any Idea what's wrong with my pc? thank's again

no POST I mean it' totally dead, all connection are in place, the motherboard's LED in lit, power bottom is good, can able to open only after an hour or more, but it only happen after few days not using the pc. it runs normally again after I able to open it (I have to wait for an hour or more of course).

The fact that your computer doesn't POST when you hit the power button but it is able to turn on after a while suggests that the motherboard could be failing. Its hard to diagnose a problem like this because it seems like it happens randomly. You could start by replacing the CMOS battery and see if that makes any difference.

I wouldn't rule it out. Also is the power supply able to provide enough power to the computer? How many Watts does your power supply have?

I think there is a strong possibility :(

One possibility is damaged capacitors which would normally charge instantaneously, but are now taking an hour or so to charge up.

Just a theory, of course :)

I would try changing the CMOS battery as Evan suggested, but don't hold your breath :)
