i got a an *.exe file that Avira Antivirus says is a virus labelled "TR/Keygen.FD "

i went on the avira virus information site but there was no description on this type of virus. i scanned it with malwarebyte but came up clean.

just wondering if this is a false reading by avira. if not, do u know the "danger" level of this virus and its possible effects.

    thanks,

    Andre

i think u guys misunderstood me. let me start from the start.

a mate from work gave me a copy of altium designer winter edition (schamatic and pcb design software) on a dvd. 1 of the files has the mentioned trojen so avira denies it instantly (so i do not have the virus on my comp). i just wanted to know if i could find out if avira gave me a false positive and many other virus scanners come up clean.

    thanks again

This is a general comment not aimed at you personaly :) .....

Cracked copies of software often include a Key Generator - this is what Avira may be picking up.
