    Hi all.

I'm running Windows XP, service pack 3.

Whenever I start up in Normal mode, a BSOD comes up. I've written down two of the different errors I've gotten. I'm not sure if others came up different times I started up, but I had assumed it was always the same message These are the two that I got on different occasions:

    STOP: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0xA818c8d3, 0xba4e7968, 0x00000000)

    00001030-Address a818c8d3 base at a818c000, datestamp 49c97a84

    STOP: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0xa8c048d3, 0xba4eb968, 0x00000000)

    00000e73-Address a8c048d3 base at a8c04000, datestamp 49c97a84

The first time I got a blue screen was when I downloaded Ad-Aware in attempts to get rid of a slew of viruses I got on my computer and restarted my computer. I could not start up in Normal mode properly again.

So I switched to Safe mode and deleted the viruses using Ad-Aware and Malware Bytes Anti-Malware. I still couldn't start up in Normal mode.

Because I cannot start up in Normal mode, I can't do an easy System Restore. I tried to do a System Restore in Safe Mode with a Command Prompt.. but I'm not sure if I need to type in anything else other than % system root%\system32\restore\rstmi.exe. I don't know the proper way to make it a proper command.

I also cannot use Windows Live OneCare safety scanner because my IE has been corrupted, and although I installed an IE tab add-on to my Firefox browser, it still doesn't connect to the Internet.

I also tried uninstalling Ad-Aware in Safe Mode thinking this may help, but after I restart my computer again.. the program is still there.

Any ideas of what the main problem is, and how I can go about fixing this while in Safe Mode? I hope there's still more possible solutions!

I would've included the minidump if I had a subscription but alas I do not.

    Thanks very much.

Thanks for the quick reply, but I'm confused at your suggestion. I mentioned that I was able to remove the viruses with both the programs I downloaded. Only the problem now is that I get the blue screen error. Are you saying that I'm getting the blue screen error because I may still have a virus? Thanks again.

Edit: I posted the logs as you suggested. Thanks very much again.
