[Resolved] Blue Screen Reboot, Slowed Internet, Iphone Shortcut

Hello, thanks for taking the time to read this. Recently sometimes I try to watch video clips I have downloaded from the internet and a Blue Screen pops up and my computer reboots but comes so quickly I cannot see what it says. My internet has gotten extremely slow, I have contacted my ISP and nothing has changed on my account and I also have an IPHONE shortcut in my MYComputer in which i haven never installed one to my computer and lately have not installed or doen anything differently with any Ipod or Itunes devices. When I click on the Iphone shortcut, AVG says it is an invisible application and maybe a virus/malware. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have included a recent HijackThis report. thanks again.

1. Download HostsXpert ( http://www.majorgeeks.com/Hoster_d4626.html ) and then follow the steps below:

* Unzip HostsXpert.zip
* It will create a folder named HostsXpert in whatever folder you extract it to.
* Run HostsXpert.exe by double clicking on it.
* click Restore MS Hosts File and then click OK.
* Click the X to exit the program

Restart computer.

2. Download avz4.zip from here
• Unzip it to your desktop to a folder named avz4
• Double click on AVZ.exe to run it.
• Run an update by clicking the Auto Update button on the Right of the Log window: [IMG]
• Click Start to begin the update
Note: If you recieve an error message, chose a different source, then click Start again
• After the update, from the "File " menu, choose "Standard Scripts "
• Put a check next to item 2: Advanced System Analysis
• Click Execute selected scripts
• At the next prompt, click the Yes button
• Let the scan run and click "OK" when the completion prompt pops up
• Now Close out of the Standard Scripts window, and exit AVZ
• Navigate to the avz4 folder and locate the folder LOG
• Inside the LOG folder you will find virusinfo_syscheck.htm and virusinfo_syscheck.zip
• Attach the compressed file, virusinfo_syscheck.zip, to your next reply.

3. Post fresh HJT log.

I need that AVZ log.
To attach a file, click on "Manage Attachments" button underneath "Reply" window.
A pop-up window will open. Click on "Browse" button to navigate to a file location, and then click on "Upload" button.

This is weird. You may want to contact administrator about it.

Meanwhile, upload AVZ log here: http://www.filedropper.com/
Post download link for me.

Unless you installed Viewpoint Manager knowledgeably...
Go Start>Control Panel>Add\Remove (Programs and Features in Vista), and...
Uninstall any of the following programs associated with Viewpoint:
* Viewpoint Manager
* Viewpoint Media Player
* Viewpoint Toolbar
This program does not do anything bad such as deliver ads or spy on you, but it is considered foistware ( "drive-by-install ") as it is installed without your consent through programs like AOl, AIM, Compuserve, etc.

Other than that, all clean.
Since your computer had some infections...

1. Download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Unselect Cookies.
Click the Empty Selected button.

If you use Firefox browser
Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Unselect Cookies.
Click the Empty Selected button.

If you use Opera browser
Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Unselect Cookies.
Click the Empty Selected button.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

2. Turn off System Restore:

- Windows XP:
1. Click Start.
2. Right-click the My Computer icon, and then click Properties.
3. Click the System Restore tab.
4. Check "Turn off System Restore ".
5. Click Apply.
6. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click Yes to do this.
7. Click OK.
- Windows Vista:
1. Click Start.
2. Right-click the Computer icon, and then click Properties.
3. Click on System Protection under the Tasks column on the left side
4. Click on Continue on the "User Account Control" window that pops up
5. Under the System Protection tab, find Available Disks
6. Uncheck the box for any drive you wish to disable system restore on (in most cases, drive "C: ")
7. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click "Turn System Restore Off" on the popup window to do this.
8. Click OK

3. Restart computer.

4. Turn System Restore on.

5. Make sure, Windows Updates are current.

6. If any Trojan was listed among your infection(s), make sure, you change all of your on-line important passwords (bank account(s), secured web sites, etc.) immediately!

7. Download, and install WOT (Web OF Trust): http://www.mywot.com/. It'll warn you (in most cases) about dangerous web sites.

8. Read How did I get infected?, With steps so it does not happen again!: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic2520.html

9. Let me know, how is your computer doing.

Download, and install AVP Tool.
After installation, leave all settings as they're, and simply click on Scan button.
When scan is done, and any objects are found, click on Neutralize all button.
Next, click Reports... button, then Save to file....
Save the file to know location as report.txt.
Open report.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and post it in your next reply.

NOTE. If the file is very large, please, upload it here: http://www.filedropper.com/
Post download link.

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
1. Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
2. Close any open browsers.
3. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
• Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results ".
• Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
• Close any open browsers.
• WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
• Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
• If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.
4. Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
5. When finished, it will produce a report for you.
6. Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**

Make sure, you re-enable your security programs, when you're done with Combofix.

i see that the 3xhybrid is something for the tv card remote does that mean its not a bad thing? also the iphone is still there, i read somewhere that the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.exe is maybe responsible for that but i disabled that in startup awhile ago and also i was wondering how i can get rid of the ItunesHelper.exe from running all the time.

Definitely, nothing malicious here, but we need to take care of couple of things.

First...
Recovery Console

With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have the Windows Recovery Console pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Go to Microsoft's website => http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310994

Select the download that's appropriate for your Operating System

Download the file & save it as it's originally named.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Transfer all files you just downloaded, to the desktop of the infected computer.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools

• Drag the setup package onto ComboFix.exe and drop it.

• Follow the prompts to start ComboFix and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Recovery Console.

• At the next prompt, click 'Yes' to run the full ComboFix scan.

• When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt log in your next reply.

======================================================

When done, you can take care of those other things bothering you.
We need to disable couple of unnecessary startups.

Open HJT, and checkmark:

- O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ATI Scheduler] C:\Program Files\ATI Multimedia\MAIN\ATISched.EXE

Click "Fix checked" button (no actual programs will be removed).

How are things now?
