[Installation guidance for] New Wireless Printer

Open to suggestions and correct order to get it installed. The printer will be here on Feb 7. It is an HP Photosmart c7280 AIO. My present printer is an HP Officejet 4315v AIO. Presently my printer is hardwired to my HP desktop via USB. A Linksys WRT 54g wireless router is hardwired via ethernet cable from my DSL modem. From the Linksys it it is wired to my desktop via ethernet cable. A home network is setup but I cannot print from my Toshiba laptop to the printer. Printer works fine from the desktop. File and printer sharing is activated. I assume the present printer software needs to be uninstalled via control panel add removed programs before I install the new HP C7280 software. I want to be able to print wireless from desktop or Toshiba laptop via the new printer.

Also.. would it be best to reconfigure a new home network after the printer installation? All suggestions welcome.

If you have a software application associated with a printer that is no longer installed, then uninstalling any associated entries in Add/remove programs is a good idea. However, that's not the normal place to uninstall the printer. They printer should be listed in the Printers and faxes control panel system (I think the name is different in Vista, but its fairly obvious) and all you should have to do is delete the printer there.

Got all the old printer software deleted and uninstalled a few days ago. Problem now is cannot get the software for the new HP Photosmart c7280 installed on my HP desktop. I have posted details of that problem in the Software section of forums. Would love for you to take a look.
