I have a CD made from MP3's with really bad sound, so I did a search for "poor sound quality mp3" and was startled to see every single result had the 'this site may harm your computer" warning, including google! I suspected something was way out of line and that's when, in an abundance of caution, I googled my blog on wordpress.com and got the same thing.

I'm no techie, but my guess is someone hacked the way google puts out this warning, in which case hopefully they will get this fixed asap - but I wouldn't count on it, which is why I am posting here and hoping the geniuses on this board will have some insights on what is going on and what to do about it. Thank you.

Actually I think it is your computer which has the problem and not the sites Google throws up - only 3 for 'poor sound quality mp3' and they open without any warning.

I suggest you read this and post the logs requested in this thread which I have moved to the Malware & Virus Removal forum.

No, it's not just me. It was quite real and all over google. You can see the chatter here. But it is gone now. They fixed it very fast. Thanks.

Thanks for the update. They must have fixed it soon after you first posted as I tried Google before responding.

Coincidentally I had an email from a friend on the same subject a few minutes ago.

I could send you a screenshot but I don't have a subscription. It would be nice if there was some sort of announcement / explanation from Google, but I won't hold my breath on that one. ;-)

The alternative to a subsciption is to post the image on a site somewhere and post the URL here.
