personal settings will not load

when i sign in using my screen name my personal settings will not load, i can not get in to check if it is virus or any other nasties. my sons mainly use the computer so could be anything. any adice on this would be gratley appreciated. thanks in advance.

really sorry, i was not very clear in question i posted. i am on my pc the problem is with my childrens pc n nother room, when i have tried to turn pc on it loads to sign on screen, when they try to sign in it says loading personal settings but nothing appears on desktop, their is just the wallpaper background no startup, nothing at all. sorry in advance incase i make mistakes.

 

Try logging in as a different user

Perhaps your profile has become corrupt. try logging in as a different user or create a new user with your admin account. You can then copy any documents to that new profile with your administrator account. You must log on at least once with the new profile before the copy.

You can also delete the profile and restart the system if the data is not important.

You can also run the system restore when logging in with your admin account.

very sorry for the delay in relying to you but have been away for a few days.
in reply to your above quote, yes i can start in safe mode. I have tried logging in on my childrens log in names but same thing happens each time. Nothing at all will load on to desktop I am just left with a blank desktop.
