    I had a friend who asked me about finallyfast. Since I knew nothing about it I told him I would check it out.

    I downloaded their scan software and ran it. It alerted on several files, found no tracking cookies.

    So, I decided to test it since I knew the files it alerted were ok. I ran MBAM and guess what I found:

    Registry Keys Infected:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{497dddb6-6eee-4561-9621-b77dc82c1f84} (Rogue.AscentivePerformance) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{4e980492-027b-47f1-a7ab-ab086dacbb9e} (Rogue.AscentivePerformance) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{5ead8321-fcbb-4c3f-888c-ac373d366c3f} (Rogue.AscentivePerformance) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{31f3cf6e-a71a-4daa-852b-39ac230940b4} (Rogue.AscentivePerformance) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

    Registry Values Infected:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDLLs\C:\Windows\System32\SysRestore.dll (Rogue.AscentivePerformance) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

    Registry Data Items Infected:
    (No malicious items detected)

    Folders Infected:
    C:\Program Files\Ascentive (Rogue.Multiple) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

    Files Infected:
    C:\Windows\System32\SysRestore.dll (Rogue.AscentivePerformance) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

    Finally Fast is from Ascentive.

    Isn't that interesting?

    Mitch

    Hi Mitchell. I saw their advertisement on TV and I knew that it was a scam. If you go to youtube and type in finally fast ad then you will see that the website is a total scam. I know what you meant about those infections on your computer. You just have to pay careful attention to those types of websites and know if they are trying to scam you for money.

    My friend Jim now knows not to download their software. I sent him the link to the youtube video. It's pretty sad people get conned into getting this stuff.

    What's more sad is the ad's permitted to be broadcast in the first place. Do the States not have an advertising watchdog?

    No, as long as you don't blatently lie or advertise something that doesn't exist one can advertise anything they want....if they have the money they can advertise whatever they want.

    So the toy flying plane (some construction required) only $5 would be legal? Even if all you bought was a sheet of paper ;)

    Hi Mitch & WIld and those interested,
    It amazes me how many people fall for sites like this! I have only viewed the comments on this thread, but if it looks to good to be true; IS IT? Rarely is!!!
    I have tried to view the youtube infomercial but these sites are getting as bad as our service providers!
    Current household!
    Me & The Wife + 4 Adolesants, (aged 13, 2 x 18 (all girls) & 21 yo male), we are on unlimited broadband, but GEE'S DON'T GO PASSED 6GB a month!

    Many unlimited services here have similar clauses in their terms and conditions but it usually only results in a warning and a request to respect other users by reducing your bandwidth. 6Gb is very low though, unless they've specifically suggested the service is for browsing/email use only.

    I'm on the basic service from my ISP (2Mbps) and they won't complain unless I persistently go over 30Gb/month and even that restriction is increased the higher your connection speed.

    From what I have heard on the Intenet, people who have gotten scammed by this fraudulent company are trying to get this company shut down. Ascentive who is the company behind finallyfast.com have been promoting negative and decepting ads for their products that don't help users computers at all. :mad: I hope this company gets shut down like all the other companies selling rogue software.
