    Thomas,

    If I understand you problem correctly;

Click on the down arrow below item after Sync. It may be audible.com or media guide, or whatever the last selection was. Click on Online Stores. On the left you will see a link for "radio ". the only selections you may have are Sirius and Live 365. Live 365 is where the radio station selections are.

    Mitchel,
I opened live 365 from chose on line store which was under media guide. I received different design for internet radio which looked better than what was there before. Now when I click on the site I am getting a box that asks me if I want to run & save file and it says files are corrup and recommends I dont run it. However, I did click on about 6 radio stations and received the same massage for all. I did try running the last two anyhow and still would work.

Also in the past I was receiving a box that stated there was a script error and did I wish to continue. System played and eventually after 2 months or so box no loger appeared and everything was fine.

    Any thoughts?
    Thank you,
    Thomas

You should be able to run those without any trouble. I tried several stations after I read your post but didn't get the same result. It went to a page with a "play" button in the upper left hand screen, I clicked and it played.

As far as the script errors go, I believe those are coming from the server you are contacting and not your systems problem. I couldn't find an option in WMP to turn off script debugging, but if you click yes it should still play.

If you can tell me which radio station was giving you the "run & save" file I will see if I can get the same result.

    Happy listening

    Mitch

    Thanks Mitch,
I tried several stations: kkjz 88.1 FM
    Under Jazz
    Forver cool
    Pat Metheny Radio
    Under New age
    Whispering
    Smooth Piano and key board

Every station has givewn me the same message. Under sycn there are three options refresh- more options-- help sync. I checked out more options and there are a lot of different things to click on and adjust. Can you look at that. Perhaps I have something clicked that should not be clicked.
I dont know what else to try-- any thoughts

    Thank you
    Thomas

    Thomas,

I tried each of those stations and they played fine. I did not get an option to save or run anything. I too am getting the script errors but everything plays ok.

Sync is for devices you attach to your PC (ipod, mp3 player, etc).

Let me rummage around in my setting and see if I can force it to offer me something to save or run.

Since WMP uses browser settings, you may want to go to internet explorer and reset your browser settings to default. Click Tools, Internet Options, Advanced Tab, click reset at the bottom of the box.

But first, copy your home page to the clip board so you can paste it back when you reset - Tools, Internet Options, In the General Tab you will see your home page. It should already be highlighted. Just right click and click copy. After you reset, go back to Internet Options and in the Home Page box right click and click paste and it will put your home page back.

    Let me know what happens.

    Mitch

Hopefully we will get someone to pop in here and offer some other suggestions.

I have two separate subscriptions to Live365, both on Vista machines, on at work, one at home. I use it a lot.

For Live365, the only player on your computer which will work is Winamp. In the Live365 forums, I was told to try to stay away from WMP, that even if I got it to work, it would not work correctly. I used to have RealPlayer handle Live365 on one computer; but now even RealPlayer will not work. Live365 has an embedded RealPlayer on their own site.

I used to be able to have Live365 in WMP. The .pls URL would not load; but, I would load it in Winamp and then use the edit function to parse out the real URL, which was often an IP address. Then I would load that into WMP and it would work. This no longer works.

If you subscribe to Live365, there is a page to pick how you want to listen. That page is where you pick the player.

All of this is nonsense and a big waste of time unless you, like me, are a media player junkie who likes to fool around with this stuff.

In Vista, the best Windows player as a player for music is Winamp. It will do everything. I still sync and rip with WMP11. Also, for information on who or what is playing from your library, Winamp uses All Music Guide, automatically, which is a terrific resource. I do not use Winamp for video because I like what things look like in WMP. So, WMP is my default for mp4, Winamp for everything else.

I have 10 Live365 streams, 2 Shoutcast streams, and 6 Public Radio (USA) streams all saved as bookmarks in Winamp, along with my 80 gig library of music.

    Thanks Rich,

I am using winamp right now. I do need to read all the great thoughts you shared because I am newbee and dont understand a lot of terminolgy.

1Can you burn music with winamp?

For example I use free version of limewire and have burned cd's with WMp and it reallt wasnt easy for me.

    2-Whats best for burning music?

3- any thoughts on what my problem is with wmp and the fact that I cant get it to work for free internet music anymore.

Mitch, presented an idea which I will try later today.

    Apreciate everyones help greatly

    Thomas

First, I burn CD's and DVD's with the Roxio software which came with my computers. Dell has always provided a nice Roxio suite, for the life of the machine. Roxio is easy to use, with drag-and-drop.

Actually, you can burn CD's and DVD's with Windows, in Explorer, with any music or video file or files on your hard drive. The only hang-up is waiting for Windows to finalize the disc before it ejects, after the "burning" is done and you press the eject button.

Just insert your disc into your burner, go to Windows Explorer, find your file in the right hand pane, and drag or copy it to your disc in the left hand pane.

WMP is great for ripping and syncing to all mp3 players except iPod and Zune.
(I have iRiver H10 20 gig mp3 players which I sync with WMP, and I have Zune software, it's free, for my 120 gig Zune).

But WMP is just not great for any internet streaming audio. Winamp and RealPlayer are the best for streaming. If one subscribes to Live365, just about the only mp3 player besides iTunes is Winamp.

If you are interested in capturing music from streams, there are two reliable pieces of software, one paid but cheap, the other free. The free on first: Freecorder (freecorder.com) works as a tool bar in Firefox and IE7. You can set the file type and the kbits, but there is no clock to start a recording without you present. The very best paid recording software, which now works with Vista, and, of course, with XP, is Total Recorder from highcriteria.com. If you have Vista, you need Total Recorder 7. If you have XP, you should have Total Recorder 6.X.

Everything I recommend I have used extensively. Music is HUGE in my life.

Windows Media Player not working for internt radio

    Thanks for reading.
If any one can help please keep in mind I know very little in computer language so if you can simplify it, much appreciated.:)

I am still trying to get my windows media player to work.

I tried the suggest given by Mitch above in which he suggested going into internt options and it DID WORK in resolving the problem and windows media player began to work for listening to internet radio.

Here is where the problem is.

I am a begginer and not very good with computers.

I tried to follow his suggestion in red which called for a copy and paste. I ried that and I was unsucessful. I ended up with a completely different toolbar set up and many other different things.

I resolved the problem with a system restore and this placed me back where I had the toolbar and other things back and working but it also left the Windows Media Player for internet music not working.

The only thing I can think that I did incorrectly was when it was suggesed to cut and paste I did not see any thing that said clip board. So all I did was right click and did the copy and paste.

If there is any additional information, you need please ask. I was really incouraged that after all this time I had my W.M Player back and was hoping to finally resolve this challenge.
    Thanks
    Thomas

    Problem Resolved

Thanks for the help guys. I think the problem is resolved. I followed the suggestion that Mitch provided in which he highlighted in red.

If the problem reoccurs I will let you all know.

So if anyone has the same above problem as I did then following the suggestion by Mitch solved my problem.

    Thanks again

    Thomas:)
