I have tried seaching everything to try and fix to no avail. The log you requsted is below. This problem started when I loaded the Blackberry software for my curve phone. I uninstalled system started to reboot itself. I did a partial system restore and tried to update everything I could (e.g. drivers, XP update, etc..) then i got this first error message

    Stop 0x0000008E (0xc000005, 0x0D04B7B, 0xec83B290, Ox00000000) kmixer.sys - address EC8B290 base at EC83B290, date stamp 00000000
win dump of physical memory physical dump complete
check w/mfg for driver update try changing video adapters BIOS update? disable caching or shadowing.

So i updated (now the sound does not work on TV but sound works with everything else.

then i get this message on 7/29/08

    STOP 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0xBF809B9A, 0xEEF08AE8, 0x00000000)
win32K.sys-address BF809B9A base at BF800000, datestamp 47e0e106 check with hardware vendor BIOS update

    i updated the bios

Now my system just continues to reboot at random. If I shut my system completely down, unplug -it takes me 5 hits on restart button until it will finally come back up. It does come back up and I can get on the internet, until it reboots again. Everytime I try to do a mcafee virus scan it reboots. I cant even get Adware or spybot to run a full scan without the system rebooting.:(

I probably ******* it up worse. Please help, my Mom was just diagnosed with cancer and I am at my wits end trying to fix I dont have alot of time bc I work full time and have to go straight to the hospital after work. Please please help if you can. I would so appreciate any help you can give.

    Welcome to WindowsBBS sandshara :)

Sure looks like driver conflicts for the most part, though the BIOS update could be a contributor to the repeated attempts to start the system. What did you use to update the BIOS?

I'll be frank ........ oftentimes driver related issues can be quite time consuming. You might find it's considerably less painless to do a repair installation of Windows. Better yet, if you have the means to backup your personal data and re-install the software apps, format and clean install.

If you opt for trying to fix it, or do a repair installation, my recommendation would be to first make sure it's free of any infections, and would proceed as follows.

Scan again with HijackThis and place a check next to the following entries.

    O15 - Trusted Zone: http://click.getmirar.com (HKLM)
    O15 - Trusted Zone: http://click.mirarsearch.com (HKLM)
    O15 - Trusted Zone: http://redirect.mirarsearch.com (HKLM)
    O15 - Trusted Zone: http://awbeta.net-nucleus.com (HKLM)

Click Fix Checked then exit HijackThis when finished.

Download ComboFix by sUBs from here, saving the file to your desktop.

Please disable realtime protection applications as they sometimes interfere with the tool. Check this link for your applicable programs.

    • Close all open programs and windows
    • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
    • It may reboot your computer and resume running when you logon. Wait for it to complete. When finished, it will open a log for you. Post that log and a new HijackThis log in your next reply.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Overheating could be a factor here too. Open the side of your case and visually verify that all fans are running. If you see a considerable collection of dust bunnies, shut down the computer and get your hands on some compressed air (you can purchase it canned if needed) to blow it out, making sure to not allow the fan(s) to spin under the compressed air flow (they can spin apart). Alternatively, you can use a small brush, such as an artists brush (not plastic bristles), to clean the fan blades, heatsink and vents.

Best wishes to your mother, and strength to you.

    Dave~
Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my mess. I have already cleaned the inside of the pc with the compressed air and a brush. Both fans are running, no evidence of anything usual. I won't be able to run your suggestions until tomorrow evening. I am at work and have to go straight to my Mom's -they are releasing her today after a week of chemo and I will have to stay with her. She has no pc or internet-

I will run the program and post the logs when I get home Sat evening. I would really like to try and fix before reinstall because it takes so long to do and I have no time. I do have a ghost backup on my external but that still takes a long time too.

The BIOS update I got from the HP website

Thank you so much for your help, and well wishes, I know in my heart you will have many rewards in heaven for all that you do to help others.
    Gratefully Yours~
    Sandy

I'll be here when you're ready to continue ;)
You should also familiarize yourself with the content in this post and prepare to gather some dumps. We may need them.

Happy to hear Mom is headed home. :)

Hi Dave~Just wanted to give you an update and thank you for all your help. My pc pretty much crashed. I did a reinstall with ghost bc everything was going haywire. When I did the reinstall it made it worse and it kept rebooting sobad I couldnt even get to my desktop. I gave up and bought a new pc. Now I am trying to learn mac and I still have xp. Really nice system now I just hope nothing goes wrong with that. Mom is home and is resting to regain her strength for round 2 of chemo. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement and for helping me and others. You are the best and may God reward you ten fold.
    Blessings to you and yours

    Hi Sandy!

Thanks for the update. I'm sorry to hear your computer's spark flickered out. The continuing degradation after restoring a ghost image suggests failing hardware. Some very knowledgable and helpful folks over in the hardware forum should you get bored (I know, not likely :D ) and decide to have a go at fixing it.

    Congratulations on the new PC! ( I can't say M a c around here ..... it's a Windows forum. ROFL!)

    Dual booting? Kewl!

Best wishes of improved health to your mother, and you hang in there Lady! :)

Your the best Dave!! I may just do that, try to revive the ole pc when time allows....LOL....someday maybe. Thanks for the well wishes and strength, it is so needed right now. My Mom gets her hair cut short today and that will be a toughy because it gives the cancer a face, but God will get us through it. Thanks for being a friend and listening. You know everything happens for a reason, so maybe God zapped my pc so I would get to talk to people with a big heart like you. I am sure glad he did;)
