I have a second hard drive with 2 partitions. D contains an evaluation copy of Vista which no longer works. On E I have stored some files. Can I just delete the partition and format it again to use for storage?
    Thank you, Sallie

It is only necesary to format the partition - no need to delete ....

Right click My Computer icon > Manage > Disk Management

Right click on the D:\ partition > Format.

    Delete Partition

Thank you so much. It worked perfectly. I was running a dual boot system and it still asks me if I want to choose an earlier version of windows at startup. Is there a way to get rid of having to choose?

There is a way, but I am not confident to lead you through the process. Vista puts boot information on the root drive in a different manner to that of XP, with which I am somewhat familiar :)

I have moved your thread with title edit to the Vista forum for the Vista guys to take up.

I have already answered that question in the XP forum.
