I burned a home movie using Windows DVD Maker onto a Dynex DVD-R. It returns an error on my magnavox MWD200GA DVD Player, but it will play just fine in my Sony DVD Player.

The Magnavox is supposed to support DVD-R .

    Any ideas?

I can think of only two possible solutions, both of which are not guaranteed to work
(1)Set the book type to DVD-ROM in the burning software. I am not familiar with WinDVD maker, so I don't know where the setting is. Usually, most dvd-burning programs or drive settings utilities have an option to set book-type.

    (2) Burn at a slower speed. Maybe the burns are not of good quality and the speed is too high (although within the rating) for the DVD media you are using.

Also, finalize the session when burning the DVD i.e. don't create a multi-session disk.

EDIT: sorry, i didn't realize this thread was over 2 weeks old. I apologize for inadvertantly bumping it to the top.

As long as a thread is 'open' feel free to post :) Any response bumps the thread to the current date so it can be seen at the top of the forum.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try that and get back to let you know how it worked.

Was hoping someone would have a suggestion.
