    Hi Bo

Really that is a matter of opinion.

It's like arm pits...everyone has their own.

Free programs are good..AVG ect, But I am the kind of person that believes you get what you pay for...Arm Pit !!

It's most important to keep what ever you have updated, I have not heard too good of things about OneCare, so I would skip that one. and I would stay with the well known ones.

Your new system came with a Anti-Virus program and maybe a suite...AV, Firewall and Anti-Spyware. << You need all 3.
My suggestion would be to buy the subscription, you pay them your money once a year and it does the rest...updates, upgrades...

If you look through the General Security fourm, you will find many discussions on AV's and security suites. or see this.

    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=70674

Hope that helps a little, but like I said, it's a matter of what you may like.
I use eTrust AV, WebRoot SpySweeper, Comodo Firewall.
you can see some of what I have in my signature below.

    Hi Geri,

I will take your suggestion and pay the subscription fee for a AV and
spyware software. I donot want to have the same issues I had here lately.

    thank you

    Bo
