Trying to make a bootable CD to run MEMTEST. Got the ISO file and wrote ti to the cd but system will not boot from the cd. I read the instructions and they mentioned not just writing the ISO to the cd but sending the files.

Using XP Home. How do I do this?????

    Hi, Mitchell. :)

Have you configured your BIOS's boot order so "boot from CD-ROM" occurs before "boot from HDD "?

Did you burn the iso file correctly? You can't just burn the file to the disk like you would other file types. You have to select "burn image file" (or something similar) in your CD burning software. What burning software are you using?

XP doesn't have the native ability to create or burn IOS files. There is a free power tool offered here.

I have not used it since I have other software for the purpose. It's MS approved so I suppose it'll get the job done without threatening the folks who make their living selling burner software. I use Nero and like it very well. It cost a few bucks though. There are several free burner softwares out there so Google for them and you can possibly get something useful.

System is using XP Home. Boot order is CD, Floppy, HDD.

Will download file recommended by Surferdude and try that out.
