What is Runecape. I can't test it if I don't know where it comes from.
But you can try this link
If all fails, I always do a search , first.

I eventually found out what it was, but I was wondering if anything came up, since the same question was posed at another webboard, with a number of replies. But, having the link, it took me seconds to get an answer. Their FAQs say that:
"Runescape members using the SUN java plug-in will not be able to hear sounds from the game. Our development team is currently working hard to correct this, but in the short-term, consider using the Microsoft java plug-in ".

To the best of my knowledge he Microsoft java cannot be used by anything but IE, or IE-derived browsers. This is nothing new, because although java was developed by Sun systems, and has been used by Netscape, Mozilla etc. browsers, Microsoft came up with their own variety. And, being predominant it found another way to leave out other browsers.
But, the statement from runespape.com, though not promising anything clears one thing in my mind. Usually, if there are problems like this, people start yelling: ACTIVE X !!! When I know well that it is not active X, or the java version. Now, I have a clear answer for these anomalies.
