A seperate section for SP2 problems ?

Would it not be possible to have a seperate section just for SP2 problems ?
I can't help feeling that there is going to be rather a lot, it will make it a lot easier to share any problems and possible solutions with other users rather than to find them mixed in with other general and perhaps unrelated XP problems.

Not sure what you mean by the above charlesvar, where is the thread you mention.
Very interesting site but it seems more concerned with problems rather than solutions unlike this board, already we have SP2 problems cropping up all over the place we need to cordinate them into one place as it appears to be affecting all areas of Win XP.
I still think that it would be a sensible idea to have a section devoted just to SP2 problems and solutions so we would all know where to look for help and advice

Possible? Certainly. Worthwhile, probably not.

- what to do with it when SP2 has been out a while and most XP questions are from users with SP2?
- "I loaded SP2 yesterday (last week, last month) and today my _____ broke ". Where does my question belong?
- "Gee, I have a hotfix that says something about SP2 so I should post there" and we figure out a couple days later that it was a post-SP1 patch so had SP2 mentioned.
- "Gee, I have a hotfix that says something about SP3 so where do I post that" and the user never figures out SP3 simply meant a post-SP2 patch.
- Mods all quit because of severe carpal tunnel syndrome from moving so many threads.

You could put a time limit on the section such as 3 months after that time all further posts could go back in the main XP forum and leave the SP2 section as an archive.
I always appreciate the work the Mods do and would be the last one to cause them any injury, I'm told that pushups are good for the wrist. !!!

 

LOL. Alboy, you've never seen me but trust me on this one, a push up would not be a pretty sight.

 

SP2 is for Windows XP OS, right. Windows XP has its own forum (Section). Maybe I miss something, but I see no need for a separate forum for SP2.

 

SP2 is by far the most contentious update so far and considering how large the XP section already is it seemed sense to have a section on SP2 but that's only my opnion why don't we have a vote to see how others feel about it ( result not binding )
