RE: Netscape 7.02

Since my post at the below addy "has not" given me any solutions, I thought about, for the Netscape Connection prob, trying replacing the 7.0 with the new 7.02, which full-Installer I got it at < ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/netscape7/english/7.02/windows/win32/sea/NSSetupB.exe >

NOW, my question! How "bad" is Netscape 7.02? Would you tell me, please?

I forgot to ask about any expected release time of "7.02 COMPACT," NOT for the "Stream 7.02 - Compact. "

The last "compact" was NS 7.1 - I don't think you can find a 7.02 compact.

No guarantee that it is still there, but you can try.

For general info, rumors that AOL may release a NEW Netscape - rumored to be based on Moz 1.7-

Hi Kid,

I was under the impression that you had solved the connection issue with the ISP? You said it was a corrupt IE, and it needed to be reinstalled, so I assumed no further help was needed.

What Firewall do you use? Have you checked all the permissions for Netscape?

I would give Mozilla 1.6 a whirl, if I were you. It is quite stable, and at the end of May or early June, the final Release of Mozilla 1.7 will be out. You can update then. I have seen other users experiencing connection problems similar to yours, using Netscape.

No ma'am; Neither of the probs have been fixed, YET.

I've been using Mozilla 1.6, and I like it better than K-Meleons. Checked "most" Netscape-7.0-related, in my new unit, which so far, brought no "yeah!"

I don't think my IE 6.0 has a corrupt that concerns Outlook Express, or Outlook; That was, the mention of corruption, was said by a personnel for "on-phone-tech-help" at the SBC.

I'll put the NS 7.02 and 7.1 Compact tonight; For the "Outlook Express," I'd want to sleep on it for a day or two. The Kansas weather got me. At any rate, I'll check my ROUTER CONFIG. before any soft installations: I still haven't done that yet, so...

Netscape 7.02 Cean-Installed; The Connection Failed.

I uninstalled the 7.0, using the "add/remove." After that I cleaned the Netscape Program Files folder, one left-over desktop icon, along with some left-over's in the registry. I, just to feel somehow comfortable, re-booted, then did a 7.02 clean-install.

To my surprize, this 7.02, too, refused to connect... as if my IP'd gotten totally-globally banned.

I'm NOW screaming: Help!!!

I forgot to mention, again.

What an air-head I am; I re-configured my router and, while I was at it, I tried using different numbers. No set-up took me into the Netscape Wonderland this evening.

What do you guys think... I'm a nut?
