About three weeks ago this system stopped accepting any new usb devices.
All of the current ones work. A HDD and a DVD burner. If I plug any others the system does not install them.

This did not coincide with any S/W or H/W changes.

    Any suggestions?

I'm considering a non-destructive reinstall of XP Home.

    Thanks,

    JHG

    Thanks everybody.

Searched MS KB for error 21. Used the repair tool and that solved the problem

Could you explain what repair tool you used?
And the text of error 21?

    Thanks.
