windows pop ups

    windows pop ups continually pop up when I'm connected to the internet. The pop ups are all adds for things such as antivirus package, online pocker and virtual worlds.I run CA anti virus and spam software and have checked the settings ,all ok.Wheh deleting the pop ups I end up with a windows blank page and my cumputer shuts down.
