What uses more memory...

    More open brower windows, or less browser windows w/ more open tabs?
    Or is there any difference?

    At a guess, generally I'd say less browsers/more tabs would be less memory but...

    You're asking a lot here, you don't even suggest what browser you are using nor what kind of websites you visit ;)

    Now perhaps you can let us know what this has to do with hardware?

    My Bad, I hit Hardware by mistake.

    The browsers are either firefox and/or IE7.
    The sites are irrelevant, but typically a couple emails, a weather pg, stock pgs, this site, camera bbs, etc.

    I agree, more browsers equals more memory. For example, I had six instances of IE 7 open with two tabs each. Before opening the additional five I was using 710mb memory and after 856mb. Having only one browser with twelve tabs open I went from 710mb to 730mb.
