Re-installing Canon mg5220 software because I lost it during a refresh. System keeps telling me the driver is in use but it is uninstalled. I have tried everything I can think of but I know I am missing something simple.

    Printer is wireless.

I turned off network sharing hoping it would help, no luck.

    I am at a loss

    Mitch:(

The correct bit driver sure does make a difference but it seems to me you would simply get a failure, as if no driver was found. "Driver in use" seems odd.

Oh well, I am glad you got it sorted out and thanks for posting your solution.

I agree "Driver in use" was driving me nuts. I went to canon's website to get the driver and I saw the "Windows 8 64bit" driver and it hit me....

Downloaded it and everything worked as it was supposed to.

My daughter is happy - she can print her study materials.
