I am not a computer whizzer, I am a upper end of middle age so was never brought up with computers as a way of life. Courses for beginners are no good  once you get beyond the basics, so over the last 10 years I have learned a lot by making mistakes :eek:and then spending hours trying to rectify them. Once I found the answer I usually forgot how I fixed it. My local computer engineer just loves  me as I often have to get him to put right some of the things I do through ignorance and in the end frustration when things go wrong.
I have had this InstantShare 'bug' firstly on my PC and now on my brand new laptop. I was unable to gain access to the internet on my PC so had to get it sorted out by my computer guy and a pretty price I was charged for that too. Last night when I ran my PC Mechanic as is my sunday night clean up, this instantshare  came up on my laptop. I was mortified as I could not believe this could happen again for no apparent reason. May be it was my PC Mechanic???? so I uninstalled that, no difference. I was still on line so searched through and came across this site. Thank goodness I did as my querie seemingly is very common and the remedy was given by an online member on this site. :)It worked, it worked instantly and I have never been so relieved as when that horrid icon disappeared and I had control of my laptop back. So thanks :D for this site and the help I got this time. I will be a regular if I have something to do that I dont understand. Betsiedel

Hi betsiedel and welcome to WindowsBBS :)

It may still be worth asking one of the malware specialists to cleanse your system. If you decide to do so please read this and post requested logs in the Malware and virus removal board.

    NOTES:
When posting the logs ensure word wrap is switched off (in notepad Uncheck Format->Word Wrap) as this makes them difficult to read.

Be aware that only Malware analysts will advise and they are often busy. Your post will be taken on a first come first served basis but it may take a while before you receive a reply.

Mention your previous malware infections in that post.
