Hi tpw, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

Try downloading and installing the latest version of Java from, here. Then see if it will install properly.

Also please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions.

Note: A common error is to forget to show your System Details in your profile:

Make sure to do the above when entering your System Details, thanks.

    Hi MrBill,

Did you miss this quote from the thread #1 or the beginning of the post?:
Easy enough to do. I am curious why tpw did not include this in his/her "system details" though.

Sometimes when it throws in in a color like it does, it isn't the easiest thing to see. It should be in his Specs in the first place. There is a place for it to be put. Fill it ALL out or don't fill nothing.

Could you give us some more details please. When you said that it didn't work what happened? Did you get an error message?

If those two don't work you are SOL. Only recourse is a format & fresh install.

I can't help you further with Java. Again, if you can't get it to work using either JavaRA of the Cleanup utility, I don't think it is feasible to try something else.

As you know, you will loose everything when you format & do a fresh install. So you have to backup any stuff you want to keep.
