I tried to post this before but then got a strange page. So I will try again.

I can't open many System files. Such as Task Manager, Device Mgr, Event MGR.

I'm on a different PC right now. I can't even find System and Restore. I was able to determine that I have Version 10.0.10586

This is a 64 Bit system but the messages seem to refer to 32 bit. Could an update have caused this problem? Even the printer wouldn't work so I could print off the messages.

I'm very frustrated since everything was fine a week or so ago.

    Any ideas?

Hi vegaspat, You are way behind - Version 1709 OS build 16299.19 (64bit) in my comp installed date 20/10/17.
Can you get into Settings > Update and Security > Recovery > Reset?

I printed off your instructions but was not able to access anything. Messages keep popping up and I still see 32 bit?

I even tried to reinstall my printer with NO luck. I tried several other things like deleting a couple of Windows Updates.

I never had this type of problem before. I have several computers and right now I feel like setting the Acer on fire. Just don't know what could have caused this horrible issue.

Right now the PC is basically useless. I may try to reinstall the Acer discs and see what happens. THAT should be a big mess.

    Thanks.

Windows 10 version history - Wikipedia
Have a look at this list.
Have you written this in order?
In W10 > Start > Settings > System > About > Windows Specifications will show what OS version and build you have.
    What are the messages?
I think your comp might be infected. I don't know whether Broni can help in the Malware Forum.

Don't think that is the issue. I never leave the PC on and usually never connected to the Internet. I have a a virus program and Super Anti Spyware plus MalWare Bytes. I could try Broni if I don't blow this thing up. :)

Are you able to open Control Panel?
Start > Windows System > Control Panel > Device Manager etc.
If you can get into Control Panel, Troubleshooting will help with certain requirements.
Start > Settings > Update and Security > Troubleshoot in there for Windows Updates.
When I asked whether you had "written this in order", I was referring to your (Version 10.0.10586).
Windows 10 (Home or Pro) ??
    Version 1511
    OS Build 10586.
I read from this that the OS has not had any Updates received or applied since it was installed???

What a mess. I did try everything. Nothing worked. I tried Resetting my PC and it would get to 11% and then said it could not proceed. Soooooooooo, I dug out the Recovery Discs that I had paid for when I bought the PC. I figured by this time I had nothing to lose. I spent about three hours with the discs but finally had success. I already downloaded my Anti Virus and Firefox which I use all the time. Then I shut the PC down and now will deal with installing software later today.

I so appreciate your help. I tried all you suggested but it just didn't work. I hate Windows 10.:(

Sorry you've been through a rough patch. I am still thoroughly enjoying W10 and all the updates without problems.;)

Just wanted to let you know that it took me 4 hours but I re-installed my previous OS. There were over 240 Updates and have spent hours downloading those. But at least my PC isn't a piece of junk right now.

    Thanks for all your help.
