    Dear Friends,

    I have WXP installed in my Laptop. A blue tooth is permanently connected to its USB port. I am facing a problem that blue tooth icon disappears by-self. I remove the blue tooth, re-insert it then icon appears. Can any one guide me how to always display the blue tooth in notification area?

    For receiving any kind of data from external devices such as mobile phone, I right click on blue-tooth icon and then "receive a file ". If there is no blue tooth icon, i can not do such.

    Ok,

    Only other thing I can think of at the moment is perhaps it's meant to disappear if no BT devices are in range.

    I can do some tests with my BT adapter and see what happens. Unfortunately I'm using win 7 and it's unlikey our adapters are the same either.

    In the meantime please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions!

    Once you've done the above please also reply with make/model of adapter and software version if known.

    Dear Wildfire;

    Please explain how can I check the "make/model of adapter and software version" as after running of SIW, I could not find this info in tree.

    Is the manufacter and/or model number shown on the adapter itself?

    You could try right clicking on the Systray Icon and looking for help->About for the software version.

    At the end of the day though about the only advice I can offer you is to make sure you have the latest drivers available. The request for more details is only to see if this is a common problem with your adapter and XP.

    Dear Wildfire;

    I am very sorry for my poor understanding. I could not understand the both. Do you mean by Adapter the "Power Supply" adapter which charges the battery?
    I could not find the Systray Icon. Is this in SIW program or any other place in PC?

    The make and model of the Blue Tooth device Signode, the systray is the area next the the clock on the taskbar, where you find your BT icon.

    Ok signode, what you call the notification area (which is not incorrect BTW) I call the systray, is there a help/about option when you right click on it?

    @SpywareDr, thanks but wouldn't you say that area was next to the clock on the taskbar? ;)

    ? Yes, the Systray|Notification Area is the section of the Taskbar that usually includes the clock.
