My friends computer account has been hijacked or something. I get emails from him quite often telling me how I can earn a fortune working from home. Is there anything he can do to combat this situation?

I have no idea why you posted this in the Introductions forum - moved to Malware & Virus Removal forum.

Your friend's computer is compromised with malware which is sending spam messages to everyone in his/her Address Book.

I suggest your friend joins WindowsBBS and starts a new thread in this forum and posts the logs requested here

I'm sorry to have posted in the wrong place. It has been quite a while since I logged on as I lost this group & eventually forgot about it. Again you have my apologies.

Let's put this in the General Security forum, since we're not dealing with the infected computer here...

Also, realize that the friend's comp is probably not be infected with anything at all. His address can be in someone else's infected computer with is sending the mail using his address as the sender. Or a spam bot is sending the mail using random From: addresses.
