No, not using a "cleaner" program, but actually physically cleaning your computer!

With studies showing that the computer keyboard is one of the most dirty spots in homes/offices, lets see how often we clean our computers.

Cleaned everything including the Keyboard. It was my X-Mas present to my computer and keyboard.

Last time was the end of this summer. With all of the construction going on at the nearby high school my place became quite dusty from all of the trucks hauling gravel by here.

Now that my furnace has been running for a month and all the dust has been blown out of the ducts it is time to replace the furnace filter again and clean my computer once more.

I try to clean it every 4 months, but sometimes get so busy that I forget, as one previously posted pictured showed.

Good question Arie. Merry Christmas. Usually I bring everything to the garage and use compressed air to blow out all the dust and debris. It is alway a mess. I don't do it in the winter as often as in the rest of the year.

Another good reason for secondary keyboards. My one year old laptop keys are still new because they are never used. When the ext. keyboard gets really bad, I disconnect and clean top of keys. Or, just buy a new one.

You can use a combination of compressed air, a brush with semi soft bristles and a dental pick to get between the keys.

I clean my new one every month, my laptops every three months. I post on my calendar when to do this, so I don't forget. Computers gather dust, even when you're not using them.

Cleaned the Tower about 3 months ago--and the keyboard once a week--blow the dust of the screen & keyboard daily.

Note: Found a GREAT CHEAP TOOL for blowing off the dust from your computer inside and out--I spotted a "computer tech "? at Staples using it on the inside on a computer tower and thought it was some kind of SPECIAL TOOL---when I asked him what it was and where he got it he told me it's just a BALLOON BLOW-UP PUMP that they gave to the people in staples when they ordered a bunch of balloons---it's really great because it blows air on both the in & out stroke. I found one at WALLY WORLD for a lousy $3.00--sure beats the hell out of compressed air at $5 a can and will probably last a long time--I imagine they are also available at stores that sell PARTY SUPPLIES also but no-one beats Wal-Marts prices.

I try cleaning my keyboard every couple of months. I disassemble it, wash it with warm water & soap, let it dry and reassemble.

Once or twice a year I open my tower & dust out the inside... compressed air & all. clean fans and heat spreaders.

    1. Cleaned inside tower last month, usually yearly. Dust on fan cases a lot - human skin flakes?
    2. Software cleaner weekly.
    3. How to clean inside PSU? Vacuum on fan port may do it, but I do not know

I normally clean my computer about 2 times a year or so. But since my house is already pretty clean, there isn't a lot of dust or dirt inside my computer case which for me is a good thing.

Every keyboard comes apart... you'll need a screwdriver.
