Windows 8 Pro: Media Center Product Key doesn't work

I am having the exact same problem and I do have Windows 8 Pro. -The Pro version was installed after buying new PC with Windows 8 on it.
I waited three days for this key and was devastated when it didn`t work . I am a long time user of Media Centre and was initially disappointed when Media Centre was not included in 8 so was really happy when I learned of this offer.

To wait 3 days and then find out the key is useless is pretty irritating - it sounds like ordering another key with a different e-mail is pointless as well & I`ll just be even more dissillusioned if the same thing happens.
BTW why does it take so long to get a key? 3 days is pretty poor.


Edit - the "My System" link shows my system as 32 bit, - its not -its 64 bit.

 

3 days. Probably because you aren't the only customer wanting it. New system and I bet the request for stuff if flying off the shelves.

 

But my point is this - windows activation for the O/S and for other windows features is instantaneous (as you would expect with a company that deals with computers and computerization) so why are the customers who want media centre being made to feel like freeloaders by having to wait?

I sorted my problem out and found out why it would not load by the way - its because when I bought my PC and purchased the Pro upgrade I received a pack containing the pro installation DVD (or so I thought) -recently All my Metro apps started crashing and after many fruitless attempts to fix the problem, Discovered that a re-installation was the only way I`d get my functionality back.
I duly inserted my DVD and re-installed. -Now everything seemed fine until I could not enter the Media centre key. (Thats when I posted here - after registering) .
One of your Forums features is to show a members machine/ operating system specs and I noticed that my machine was registering as 32 bit. Puzzled - I entered control panel to look at my own specs and discovered that my machine had a standard copy of Windows 8 installed.-From a DVD clearly labelled Windows 8 Pro.I also noticed that the quoted last 5 digits of my key were different to the key on the card that came with the disc - so on a hunch _ fired up the "add extra features to windows" wizard and entered the key on the card. -Windows 8 Pro installed.
Of course when I tried the media centre key - it worked this time.
Rather confusing to have a standard version of windows 8 on a disk thats clearly labelled "Windows 8 Pro" don`t you think?

The displayed specs still show 32 bit BTW
