XP Disk Cleanup not working

surferdude ... following up on my previous post #39 ... what I had originally expected to be doing was just to launch regedit and delete or export the key.


Is it as simple as that ?

Yes, Gerald. Those links go to the .reg files that you can download and double click to run. They will do all of the rest. just affirm the addition to the Registry when asked.

If you aren't given the option to download them due to your system or browser settings by just left clicking on them, then do a right click and select "Save Target as" and you can get it done that way. Direct it to download to your Desktop or wherever you prefer and run it from there.

Evidently your browser settings won't let you run the files directly from the Net so do the old fashioned way.

Alright !

strange ... FireFox didn't give me a "Save Target" option.
I had to switch to Netscape to do that.
Then I was able to run the nocomp file.

Sir Gerald, Are you able to run Disk Cleanup without any problem now? I have to ask since there can be other reasons why Disk Cleanup doesn't run. They do have somewhat different symptoms however.
